As you all know by now, erotic-ish fiction isn’t my favourite genre. I love a bit of sex in a book as much as the next person but sometimes I feel that the storyline can get lost in these books and you feel like you’ve just been naughtily peering through someone’s window for three hours watching them have sex.
I was dubious about starting this book but was willing to give it a go, after all, some of the best books I’ve read have been ones I didn’t think I’d enjoy. I was quite surprised with this book for a number of reasons. Firstly, it is VERY graphic; this is definitely not suitable for YA readers or NA readers, this is an adult book through and through. Secondly, there was a bit of a storyline that sparked my interest and thirdly it is the first in a series. I’m pretty sure most books in this genre are now part of series so I am interested in finding out how this one progresses over the next few books.
Olivia Townsend is a student working her way through college to be able to return home to help her dad with his business. When her car breaks down one day and she can’t get to work she realises that she needs a new job closer to her flat. She takes a job in a bar but is quickly aware of two men, two hot men, who just happen to be twins; Nash & Cash. Nash is in a relationship but seems to take a shine to Olivia and Cash is single and also fancies his chances with her. What’s a girl to do when pair of twins both want you? Which one do you choose? The bad boy or the not so bad boy? But her decision is soon put on hold when she discovers that the twins have a dark secret they’re hiding and she knows she needs to get out. But she’s in too deep now; she’s fallen for them both. Whatever will she do?!
(She’ll have lots of sex, that’s for sure)
So overall this wasn’t a bad book. I didn’t put it down and not finish it, I was willing to read it to the end (which says something for this kind of genre!). The writing was quite simple but suited the genre well. The characters were also quite an interesting bunch! Olivia was a bit of a girl next door, not really sure what to do with herself in the beginning but over the course of the book she turned into a mature young woman who knew what she wanted. Cash & Nash were interesting characters too; both very different in many aspects but similar in others which made for some nice comparisons between the two. I liked Nash the most; he was the intelligent, geeky hot one while Cash was the bad boy club owner who liked his women!
If you like this genre then I am sure you will love this book. If you are new to the genre then I would recommend you give it a go, it wasn’t as cringe worthy as I thought it would be! It’s also a nice length (about 260 pages) so you could easily read it in one sitting.
I already have the second book in the series sitting in my TBR pile and I am quite excited to start that one soon!
