Me & Mr Jones - Lucy Diamond

Me & Mr Jones is Lucy’s latest novel which was published at the beginning of this month. Out of all of Lucy’s novels, this one is my favourite!
The Jones’ are a bit of a complicated family. Eddie Jones and his wife, Lilian, run the family B&B called Mulberry cottage. Lilian is getting increasingly worried about Eddie’s health and is desperate for one of her sons to take over the B&B. But which one will it be? Hugh Jones who is married to Alicia? David Jones and his wife Emma? Or Charlie Jones? Over one summer, the Jones family must decide who is best to run the B&B whilst each of the characters battle with their own troubles. Throw one more character, Isabel, into the mix and you have a big dilemma and a very warm summer!
We live the story through the eyes of the female characters which enabled me to really get involved in the plot. It is interesting to see how each of the female characters want different things in life; Alicia doesn’t want to turn 40, Emma wants a baby and Isabel just wants less drama in her life! The Jones brothers are great male leads who each bring different things to the novel, but Charlie was my favourite. He was the youngest son who was a bit happy go lucky and no one seemed to trust him much but his character development was fantastic.
Like all of Lucy’s novels, you never get confused with the characters. Often with novels stuffed with lots of characters, I find it hard to keep track of them all, but with Lucy’s books that never seems to be a problem.
This is a brilliant summer read that will have you engrossed until the very last sentence.
