One Kiss by Lisa Fox is set over one New Years Eve. Kat and her best friend Dean are nothing more than friends but each of them feels something else could come from their friendship but isn't willing to make a move. When Kat is invited to a New Years party and set up on a blind date, she's as willing as ever, hoping to find Mr Right. She asks Dean to tag along and by the end of the night she gets her New Years kiss but it's from someone she least expects. Can the chime of the New Year also bring a brand new start for Kat?
This is a really short novella which made it perfect bite-sized reading. You can pick it up and read it in one sitting which is often what I want in a novella! I found myself drawn very quickly into Kat and Dean's lives which meant I hung on every word, crossing my fingers that they would reach the outcome I was hoping for. There was such a cleverly written tension between the two, it was palpable and I felt so eager to get them to reveal their true feelings.
I enjoyed Lisa's style of writing and would love to read more of her work. She grabbed me as a reader and kept me turning the pages to see where the book would go and I really love an author who can do that. I always say this but my only problem with this novella is the characters deserve a longer story! I would love to know what happened to them next. I have my fingers crossed that Lisa might re-visit these characters in the future!
This is a short, sweet and a little steamy novella about love, friendship and everything in between. Well worth a read!
