Earlier this year I read Jessica’s debut novel called This Is A Love Story and was blown away by it; at the time I even stated that it was the best book I’d read so far this year. So when I saw that Jessica had written a second novel I was extremely excited to get my hands on it! The book was published as an e-book earlier this year but with my poor e-reader skills, I was having to impatiently wait until August for a paperback. However, I contacted Jessica and she very kindly allowed me to have a paperback review copy and as soon as the postman delivered it, I started reading and I didn’t stop!
Three Little Words is based around the lives of three very different women who, over the course of the book, all become linked by one event. Rachel is a famous ballet dancer but discovers a secret that throws her future into uncertainty. Bryony is trying to come to terms with the death of her partner and trying to learn how to forgive and Sara is shocked when she comes across something about her boyfriend that is rather incriminating.
I don’t know what it is about Jessica’s writing, but it is just sublime. The words seem to flow in perfect harmony with each other and every single description is tangible. The characters are all so unique and they all had characteristics that made me warm to them; even those that maybe didn’t deserve sympathy. The three main women were all extremely powerful and strong, even in the face of heartbreak. Even though they had men in their lives, they didn’t need to rely on them which made me love them even more!
I would thoroughly recommend reading Jessica’s debut novel and then reading this one. I can guarantee you will enjoy them and they will have you falling in love with this author.
I cannot wait to see what Jessica has in store for us next!
