Aven Ellis Interview
After reading and reviewing Aven's debut novel Connectivity, I was super excited to have the chance to interview the lovely lady herself!
1. Connectivity is your debut. For those who haven't read it can you describe it in three words?
THREE WORDS? Do you KNOW me? I am a TALKER. Nothing can be condensed into three words but I would --if you are MAKING ME DO THIS--say: career + love = fulfillment
2. The main male character in Connectivity is nothing short of delicious. Where did you find inspiration for William? Thank you for saying that. I love William, too! But I am sitting here laughing at the question because the inspiration for William came while I was watching an episode of Sherlock. I was fascinated with Benedict Cumberbatch's wild waves. Then boom! I saw William Cumberland in my head. Then I began thinking of what his career would be. With the explosion of social media, I thought it would be fascinating to write for a hero who developed a forum for building connections, when he worked so hard to build none of his own and keep a wall around himself--until he met Mary-Kate.
3. Do you have a favourite place to write?
Nope. I can write anywhere. It's a weird gift I have.
4. What inspired you to write?
I think storytelling is in my genetic code. I have written stories since I was 11. I finished my first manuscript at 15. I just love escaping into a new world by creating different people.
5. What's your favourite part of being an author?
When someone reads a story of mine and completely falls in love with the characters and story. If I help them laugh, or escape their troubles, or gives them something to look forward to for a period of time--well, that brings me joy.
6. If you could have dinner with three other authors, dead or alive, who would you choose?
To be honest, none. I would rather have an opportunity to meet some of the amazing bloggers I have met through the experience of publicizing Connectivity.
7. Can we expect another book from you soon?
I am happy to say yes! Waiting For Prince Harry will be released in April 2014 and Chronicles of a Lincoln Park Fashionista will be released after that. And I am writing the companion book to Fashionista right now.
